Our Events

As a collective, our MuMentors hold quarterly events to bring together a diverse group of mums to connect over shared experiences, fun activities and good food!

Launch Event - Friday 8th March 2024: International Women's Day

MuMentum went from dream to reality in 6 weeks.  It started as an idea in January 2024 and officially was launched on International Women's Day in March 2024, as a whole celebration of motherhood and the superpowers that mum's possess.

We had 3 inspirational speakers who came and shared the realities of their world, the challenges, the celebration moments and their hopes for the future.  These incredible women brought a wonderful sense of realness and hope to the room, and allowed MuMentum to connect with people's hearts.  In total 97 mums attended our launch event, paving the way for the growth and impact we see today.

Summer Picnic - Thursday 6th June 2024: Mums' Mental Health and Wellbeing

Building on the success of our launch event, MuMentum held its first topical event looking at the resilience of mum's in overcoming challenges to their mental health and wellbeing.

Through this event we heard from 2 inspirational speakers, who had both become MuMentors following our launch, daring to be both brave and vulnerable by sharing their personal experiences of battling mental health issues from traumatic birth and the loss of a child.  We also invited a clinical psychologist to come and share with attendees some of the realities of motherhood and how we can find the strength to keep overcoming our battles everyday to ensure we are looking after ourselves as mums, so that we can continue to care for everyone else.

The event was attended by 69 people.

The Glam Up - Wednesday 11th September 2024: Finding Your Spark!

Following on from our Summer Mental Health and Wellbeing event we discovered that one of the biggest challenges mums face is being able to hold on to their own identity.  Therefore, our next event was designed to break the mould and present opportunities for mums to try new things and connect over passions and hobbies.

With 69 mums and 14 stall holders in attendance, our mums were able to talk to people about getting on top of their finances, levelling-up their personal brand, learning new skills through community education or learning to prioritise their health and wellbeing needs through fitness, self-care and personal healing.  Together we created a poem and song about motherhood, took ridiculous snaps in the Photo Booth, danced like nobody was watching on the 360 video podium and mixed things up at our signature mocktail bar!

Winter ReTREAT - Tuesday 3rd December 2024: Parenting for Inclusion and Celebrating Diversity

To escape the craziness of December, we decided to put on a Winter ReTREAT for all our beautiful mama's and provide an opportunity to disconnect from the world around them and instead focus on connecting, prioritising and looking after themselves.  This event fell on International Day of Disabled People and to honour this we set our theme around inclusion.  We partnered with Torfaen People First, a self-advocacy organisation for people with learning disabilities and heard from mum's who had or were either advocating for themselves or their children to be seen, heard and valued.  We also had a wonderful practical demonstration of British Sign Language finger spelling and a chance to learn to introduce yourself to other using BSL.

Our wonderful MuMentors out did themselves in providing a beautiful winter inspired afternoon tea, full of Christmas classics, and we up cycled our mocktail bar from The Glam Up and transformed it into a deluxe hot chocolate bar, with 4 different flavours to choose from and an array of delicious toppings!
